Meet  Taylor mcfadden
Taylor McFadden

Taylor McFadden is a writer/director whose debut feature film Lovers has completed post production,  starring Angela Trimbur (Search Party) and Amelia Meath (GRAMMY Nominated Sylvan Esso), with original music by Executive Producer Nathaniel Rateliff (SNL, Palmer, Jimmy Fallon). Her most recent short film Loose Ends won the Rising Star Award in 2018 at the Canada International Film Festival. She is known for directing music videos for artists such as Jaime Wyatt and Nicole Atkins, that have been featured in Rolling Stone, BUST magazine, and Pitchfork.

Taylor got her start as the art and fashion director for FM Magazine, creating editorials and large-scale performance art events that included live music paired with designers and visual artists. This led her to New York City where she worked as a production and set designer on feature films and music videos. In 2014 she moved to Istanbul Turkey, as the direct assistant to acclaimed filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi (A Time for Drunken Horses, Words with Gods). She has studied the craft of filmmaking with great teachers such as the late Elizabeth Kemp (Actors Studio), Judith Weston (Directing Actors), and Joan Scheckel (Filmmaking Lab). In her career she has written, directed and produced short and feature narrative films, experimental films, music videos, and is currently in development on her second feature film.

Taylor is fascinated by the power of music and storytelling, continually exploring the convergences between the two. She is interested in the relationships between human beings, our relationship to ourselves, and how we affect each other and our communities. Her work strives to build bridges of connectivity. Telling stories about people who change, evolve, and grow. Taylor explores the unspoken, what lies between the lines and under the surface. She hopes to leave people with questions, and a heightened sense of curiosity about themselves and the world around them.
